Laser Engraving

Laser engraving is a technique in which the laser removes material from the substrate at various levels of depth.

  • Deep laser engraving works best with metals.
  • Rubber can be engraved using vaporization techniques.

The Details

Engraving removes low or high amounts of material to create a mark that has depth. The resulting mark has an embossed look. Depth can vary depending on the time allowed for the marking process. Stripping away small layers at a time to get the desired depth is preferred. This creates an ultra-durable result on the component and is commonly used for firearms serialization, decoration, and creating marks that may be subjected to intense wear and tear.

Moataz Ibrahim, Protocase Incorporated

I have been nothing but pleased with the entire process and relationship I have had with Tykma. I bought a Minilase a couple years ago and everything went off without a hitch.

The TYKMA Minilase 20W fiber laser has been a great asset for us. We were able to quickly migrate our production from older laser technology to the Minilase. It produces a higher quality mark in less time.
